چکیده

background: the development and progression of human tumors is accompanied by various cellular biochemical and genetic alterations. these events include tumor cells interaction with extracellular matrix molecules including hyaluronan and hyaluronan binding protein (ha-habp). hyaluronan is a large polysaccharide associated with pericellular matrix of proliferating, migrating cells, regulation of hyaluronan expression during cervical ripening.  its implication in malignant transformation, tumor progression and with the degree of differentiation in various invasive tumors has well accepted. it has been well known the role of ha receptors in tumor growth and metastasis in various cancer tissues. methods: the procedure carried out by using 10 benign and 30 different grades of cervical cancer tissue samples to see the expression of habps protein by western blotting method. results: this study is based on the clinical work of benign tissue and cervical cancer tissue samples. the results indicated that it is a habp. it conforms that 57kd protein could be a common marker. conclusion: the habp of 55-57kd and 30kd proteins, which were observed in western blot. it was shown by using a specific probe bha for the detection of habp, which recognizes all types of hyaladherins.  data suggests over-expression of h11 antigen (habp) in tumor cells and it is an important parameter and a clinical diagnostic marker for all progressive human tumors. key words: hyaluronan (ha); h11 antigen; hyaluronan-binding proteins (habp); cervical cancer; bha (biotinylated hyaluronic acid) references 1. toole b.p. hyaluronan and its binding proteins, the hyaladherins. curr. opin. cell biol.1990; 2:839–44. 2. fenderson b.a, stamenkoyic l, aruffo a. localization of hyaluronan in mouse embryos during implantation, gastrulation and organogenesis. differentiation. 1993;54: 85-98. 3. gakunga p, frost g, shuster s, cunha g, formby b, stern r: hyaluronan is a prerequisite for ductal branching morphogenesis. j. development 1997, 124,3987-3997. 4. turley e.a. hyaluronan and cell locomotion.cancer metastasis rev. 1992; 11: 21-30. 5. degrendele hc, estess p, picker lj, siegelman mh. cd44 and its ligand hyaluronate mediate rolling under physiologic flow: a novel lymphocyte-endothelial cell primary adhesion pathway.j exp med. 1996; 183:1119-30. 6. knudson c.b, knudson w. hyaluronan binding proteins in development, tissue homeostasis and disease. faseb j. 1993; 7- 1233-41. 7. underhill c. cd44, the hyaluronan receptor. j.cell sci. 1992;103:293-8 8. turley e. a, noble pw, bourguignon l. y. signaling properties of hyaluronan receptors. j. biol. chem. 2002; 277: 4589–92. 9. ponta h, sherman l, herrlich p. cd44: from adhesion molecules to signaling regulators. nature rev mol. cell biol, 2003; 4: 33–45. 10. bourguignon l.y. cd44-mediated oncogenic signaling and cytoskeleton activation during mammary tumor progression.j. mammary gland biol neoplasia. 2001; 6, 287–97. 11. thorne r. f, legg j. w, isacke c. m. the role of the cd44 transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains in coordinating adhesive and signalling events.j. cell sci, 2004; 117:373–80. 12. banerjee s.d, toole b.p .the determinants of migrating with a pre-arranged job and of the initial duration of urban unemployment: an analysis based on indian data on rural-to-urban migrants.j dev econ. 1991; 36:337-51. 13. laemmli uk. cleavage of structural proteins during the assembly of the head of bacteriophaget4.nature. 1970; 227:680-5. 14. boregowda  rajeev k, hitesh n appaiah, manjunath siddaiah, sunil b kumarswamy, sunila sunila, thimmaiah kn, et al. expression of hyaluronan in human tumor progression.j carcinog.2006;5: 2, 1477-85. 15. grammatikakis n, grammatikakis a, yoneda m, yu q, banerjee sd ,  toole bp. a novel glycosaminoglycan-binding protein is the vertebrate homologue of the cell cycle control protein cdc37. j biol chem .1995; 270:16198-205. 16. huang l, grammatikakis n, yoneda m, banerjee sd , toole bp.molecular characterization of a novel intracellular hyaluronan- binding protein.j biol chem 2000; 275: 29829-39.

Absence of Human Papillomavirus in Benign and Malignant Breast Tissue

Background & Objective: Malignant breast tumors, which are one of the most important deadly cancers in women, like many other cancers, are proposed to be related to viruses etiologically. Proper management of breast carcinoma necessitates an identification of the etiological factors. Human Papillomavirus is considered to have an etiological role in breast carcinoma. We...

detection of e-6 antigen (human papilloma virus-16) and h11b2c2 antigen (habp) in cervical cancer tissues

background: cervical cancer is one of the most common types of women’s reproductive cancers. a major risk factor for cervical cancer is exposure to a group of common sexually transmitted viruses called human papillomavirus  (hpv). the over expression of hpv 16 i.e., e6 antigen in the tumors of suspected cervical cancer tissues. however e-6 antigen has hyaluronan binding protein site. methods: t...

MTA1 Expression in Benign and Malignant Salivary gland Tumors

Introduction: Salivary gland tumors (SGTs) are important parts of human neoplasms. The most common SGT is pleomorphic adenoma and the most common malignant SGTs are mucoepidermoid carcinoma and adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC). Metastasis-associated genes 1 (MTA1), a member of the nucleosome remodeling and histone deacetylation complex, is one newly discovered gene which recruits histone deacetyl...

Expression of MAGE-A4 and MAGE-C1 tumor-associated antigen in benign and malignant thyroid diseases.

BACKGROUND A subset of thyroid tumors characterized by a follicular growth pattern can represent a serious diagnosis. Immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology for genetic profiling have been used in an attempt to resolve some of these issues. METHODS Tumor tissue samples of thyroid were obtained from 70 patients who underwent surgical therapy. They were divided into 4 groups: 20 adenomato...
